1980, The Journey behind Alkuobond
Back in 1980, in Karachi, the business started as a small trading setup under the name MHCo, long before aluminium composite panels became part of the construction landscape.
There was no big-picture ambition. Just a clear way of working:

Those values quietly shaped the business over the years, building the foundation that would later grow into Alkuobond.

1980–2000 | The Foundation Years
MHCo and the Metal Roots
1990, FIRST INVESTMENTS
Between 1980 and 2000, MHCo built its presence in Karachi’s growing construction and fabrication market, supplying steel coils, sheets, and essential metal materials.
The work was hands-on and consistent, dealing daily with coil quality, protective coatings, thickness accuracy, surface finishes, and proper storage and handling.

Over 20 years, metal trading evolved into a deep understanding of how materials perform in real construction conditions across Pakistan.

2000-2016 | A New Direction
Cedrus Deodar Shifts to Architectural Surfaces
In 2000, the business evolved into Cedrus Deodar, moving from traditional trading into WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) and architectural surface solutions. This shift brought the company closer to architects, designers, and facade professionals, where the focus moved beyond materials to how surfaces shape modern buildings.
Cedrus Deodar focused on architectural finishes, facade systems, and design intent, rather than just supply. Over time, a clear realization emerged, the core strength still lay in metal, leading to a strategic shift away from WPC and toward aluminium composite panels (ACP) and modern cladding solutions in Pakistan.

Birth of Alkuobond
With over 35 years of experience in metal trading and architectural surface understanding, a specialized brand was formed, Alkuobond, a subsidiary of Cedrus Deodar. This was not an entry into the ACP industry by chance. It was a natural progression shaped by decades of working with metals, coatings, and construction materials. Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP) became the point where everything came together: metal expertise, coating knowledge, surface science, and architectural understanding.
The launch of the manufacturing plant marked a decisive turning point:

MHCo laid the foundation through 20 years of metal expertise. Cedrus Deodar expanded it into architectural surfaces and design thinking. Alkuobond brought everything together into ACP manufacturing. Not separate identities. Not reinventions. Just one path, refined over time into a single purpose.
